EGG fraud blog

This page provides a short chronological overview of the fraud that four individuals (M. Lohninger, D. Özyildiz, B. Gehrke, P. Charvatová) have committed in an attempt to hijack the EGG, which is still ongoing (writing on Nov. 7th, 2025).

Nov. 5th
The EGG takes back control of the stolen EGG site, abandoned by the impostors because they call themselves OVA now.
The EGG fraud continues on the OVA site (see entry Nov. 2nd) and on all social media that the impostors control: Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp.
From the point of view of the EGG, there is no reason why anyone who disagrees with the structure of the EGG cannot begin their own enterprise. But nobody has the right to usurp the identity of the EGG, either by claiming that they are the “successors” of the EGG, or by running social media in this perspective.

Nov. 2nd
The impostors go online with a new website. They now don’t pretend anymore to be the EGG but call their enterprise OVA. They explain that OVA means Omnes Voces Acceptamus “we accept all voices”, but that’s another deception: OVA is the Latin word for “egg” (nom/acc pl), and the logo of the OVA site (in the browser tab) is a fried egg.
The narrative is that OVA “is the successor to what was formerly known as the EGG” because “the organizing team of EGG split up”. They explain that “EGG is OVA now.”
This is not true. There is only one EGG, and EGG has no “successors” since it has continued to operate. Neither the EGG nor its organizing team has split up: when the impostors realized they could not take unilateral control of the EGG, they started a new enterprise called OVA.
Thus the EGG fraud continues in full swing, under a new name: the impostors try to co-opt the EGG, its reputation, and its intellectual capital. They have no right to speak in the name of the EGG, or to claim any continuity between their structure OVA and the EGG. On the OVA website is a section called “past schools”, which lists only former EGG schools. This means that the EGG schools are being presented as though they were earlier meetings of the OVA school, which is not true.

Since Oct. 13th
The stolen EGG facebook page develops into a forum where some voices applaud the putsch and the overthrowing of democratic decisions. Tobias tries to exchange facts and arguments, but his posts are banned. You can read them here.
Later on, the impostors rename their enterprise OVA, explaining that this means Omnes Voces Acceptamus “we accept all voices”.

Oct. 13th
As an immediate reaction, the impostors release a text called “clarification” (screenshot below) where they say “as you might have noticed, the structure of the EGG board/organizers changed a bit.” That’s their way to talk about the putsch they have made. And they sign with “The EGG board”.

Until this statement, which was triggered by the publication of the EGG board revealing the fraud, the impostors tried to hide away their putsch from the community.
The “clarification” is released on all media controlled by the impostors: the stolen EGG site, the EGG accounts of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

Oct. 13th
The EGG board makes the fraud public on various mailing lists and on the page Fraudulent attempt at hijacking the EGG.

Sept. 23rd – Oct 13th
The impostors try to deceive the community: the stolen EGG site that they now control does not mention anything about their putsch. The only change is the newly introduced page where they appear as organizers, removing the names of the duly-elected board members without their consent.
Thus they pretend that nothing has happened and the EGG is working regularly, under their authority (they do not even mention that there was a “change” on the board).

Sept. 29th
The EGG board submits the true funding request to VRF. VRF is surprised and asks whether this one replaces the one they have already received. The EGG board explains the ongoing fraud and identity theft. On Oct 8th, VRF decides that none of the two submissions will be funded.

Sept. 28th
The four impostors seem to be under the impression that the VRF application is a legitimizing action that will set things in stone. After they submitted their application, they unilaterally inform Alex and Tobias by email about their putsch: “the board consists now of five people. […] All but the phonology spot, which is open, are now filled by Lena, Deniz, Berit and Petra.”
In the same email, they ask Tobias (entirely ignoring Alex) “if you would like to take the phonology spot, and sincerely hope that you will be able to find it in you to accept it. We know how invested you are in the EGG, and our main priority is the school as well.”
Thus: impostors expel you from your home, take control over the house, and then ask you whether you would like to come back and live a room, under their spell.

Sept. 23rd – 28th
The four impostors file a funding request to the Van Riemsdijk Foundation (VRF) in the name of the EGG. That is, they try to deceive VRF and gain money under a false, usurped identity.

Sept. 23rd – 28th
Behind the back of Alex and Tobias, the impostors cancel Tobias’ access codes to the EGG website (Alex didn’t have any yet).
They introduce a page saying that they are the EGG organizers.

Sept. 23rd
Behind the back of Alex and Tobias, Lohninger eliminates Tobias from the EGG WhatsApp group (Alex was not on that group).

Sept. 23rd
EGG board meeting: Lohninger & Özylidiz come with a new proposal aiming at modifying the number of seats of the EGG board, to gain a majority. Gerrymandering: if you cannot win a vote, you try to modify the voting body. The vote is 2 yes and 2 no, thus the proposal is not adopted.
Both Lohninger and Özyildiz had announced that if their proposal is not adopted, they quit. And the end of the meeting, Lohninger steps down from the board. Özyildiz says he needs time to think.

June 4th
After discussion over the month of May, the EGG board votes on Lohninger’s & Özyildiz’ proposal to introduce a Code of Conduct. The vote is 2 yes and 2 no, thus the proposal is not adopted.
